Like transitions, there are behaviours & animations for your text, videos or objects. There are transitions for said annotations, including the traditional fade in, slide left to right etc, all of which are customisable. Moving on through the editing options, there are also several annotations you can insert, including text, arrows & shapes. How do you use these items? Simply drag and drop them into the preview window and then double click to edit. The library option includes a number of pre-set materials you can use and edit to suit, including cartoon illustrations (known as icons), animated intros & outros, lower thirds animations, motion backgrounds, royalty free music tracks, plus for an additional cost, you can download even more via the TechSmith website. I started at the top and worked my way through the editing options and was surprised at the goodies they had on offer! At the centre of the screen is the preview area, with editing options either side of that, timeline at the bottom and standard options/file etc at the top. The program has a modern feel to it, with a grey & green colour scheme, with easy to read test and the overall layout is very simple and easy to navigate.

TechSmith, a company that produces screen capture, screen casting & video editing software, have released Camtasia 2018.
